Cactus / Shea Corridor West

Many of the Cactus Shea Corridor neighborhoods are well-established and contain homes built primarily between 1970 and 2002.  Subdivisions such as Desert Trails and Sundown/Stone Ridge Manor for example, typically offer single-family homes on large lots, and are set back from the street with large front yards.  Other neighborhoods such as the golf neighborhood Scottsdale Country Club/Starfire have a range of home sizes, from smaller attached units up to larger single-family three-bedrooms.   The Buenavante neighborhood features larger single family homes on larger lots (almost an acre) yet has no HOA.

Paradise Valley Ranchos is another neighborhood in the Cactus Shea Corridor with a mix of homes including apartments, condos, and single family houses.  Most of these homes were built by Custom Homes, and reflect a distinctive Southwestern style.  To the west is Equestrian Manor, which is a guard-gated community offering luxury custom homes.

All of these neighborhoods share a central location convenient to both the 51 and the 101 freeways.   The Cactus Shea Corridor has many convenient amenities, including fabulous shopping, thanks to the nearby Scottsdale Quarter, home to an Apple store, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and American Girl.  Kierland Commons is just across Scottsdale Road, and offers plenty of fine retailers such as Anthropologie and Crate and Barrel.  Paradise Valley Mall with its large department stores is another retail option.    Dining opportunities are varied and plentiful in the Cactus Shea Corridor thanks to the many fine dining as well as locally owned restaurants which populate this rectangle.

For active and fitness-minded residents, there are dozens of parks with walking and biking trails, as well as numerous fitness centers.  Golfers can take advantage of the year round beautiful weather on courses such as the Starfire Golf Club, the Scottsdale Country Club East and the Orange Tree Golf Resort.

The schools in this community west of the 101 freeway are part of Paradise Valley Unified School District, an A rated district, and include Sonoran Sky Elementary School, Desert Shadows Middle School and Horizon High School.  Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is approximately 18 miles away from the Cactus Shea Corridor.
